Rainbow Halo

Shanti reports…

Although we had a trip planned with mates for the weekend, Mum couldn’t resist the tempation to head out to play in the first June snowfall on Friday afternoon. Just a quick trip she said…

And up Foggy Peak we went. I encountered people with skis on their backs. They were heading downhill and looked tall and scary, but I did my best to protect Mum by barking loudly. Meanwhile, Mum told me off for doing so. She’s got not no idea how these things work and should leave it to me.

It was foggy on Foggy Peak, but I’ve seen that before. Once we were above the false summit the fog cleared a bit and the sun shone through causing a rainbow halo, which is sometimes also called a Brocken spectre as it can look like a person (or your reflection) in the centre of the small rainbow.

It was NOT a short trip, but it was kinda special.
