This one is still a work in progress. I wanted to capture the idea that the world is the same on New Year’s Day. It is only our mindset or attitude that opens up that feeling of a fresh start and new possibilities. This is something that we could potentially access at any time, but traditionally only do at a set agreed time.

I’ve stuck with the traditional 5/7/5 format (almost) but have also been playing with more looseness because it reads better:

The same birdsong

Heralds a new day or a new year

So far so good… but the ending just won’t fit

Fresh mind makes the difference / Your attitude makes the difference / New possibilities

I particularly liked the option:

Contiunuum of possibilities

for conveying a string of “nows” - but don’t count the syllables there. (To save you time - 10.)
