Mt Isobel

For number ten, our last walk for the mountain dog challenge, we had to drive all the way to Hanmer Springs. After that there was a little bit of confusion and detours. Two of the access roads, with our human’s preferred routes, were closed for logging. So we had to find a new car park to go up the waterfall route.

It’s a fairly long and steep climb up through the forest, but not as hard as some of the walks we’d done already.

Here’s Scruff and me on the way up. Nice views, huh!

It’s a steep climb to a sort of saddle. I thought we were almost there, but there was still quite a long way to go in the open - but this part wasn’t as steep.

It’s up towards that bump in the distance.

Here’s our summit photo. Someone else on Mt Isobel offered to take this photo, so we’re all in this one. Yay.

Nope. I don’t feel like doing a high five, Mum.

So that’s it. The last tick and that’s a wrap for the mountain dog challenge. Now it’s up to Mum to find me some new adventures.

Oh, I should add that I was pretty proud of Mum. She fractured her ribs on a walk a few weeks ago. She’s still a bit sore - but didn’t put the walk off until a later date.
