Mt Grey via the Fire Lookout

Mt Grey was on the agenda for today. Mum tried hard to convinve everyone to try the route up from Lake Janet, but Mirjam and Liz (Scruff and Maisy’s Mums) have a new rule - NO shortcuts! Something to do with Mum leading them through awful swamps or nasty matagouri.
So we parked at our usual spot and walked up to the top, with a coffee stop with a view for the humand on the way. Yes, there were treats for the dogs. It was windy at the top so we hunkered down until the humans were ready to leave.
Suitably fortified, everyone was brave enough to try the new route down via the lookout and Lake Janet, plus an additional walk along the foresty road to get back to the car. Below is a smattering of photos from the trip down and the new to us views.
